Education: Graduate Yeshivat Hesder Midbara Ke’Eden, Mitzpeh Ramon (1999-2005); YSMZ Kollel A native Israeli, Rav Mirsky delivers his Morning Seder shiur in Ivrit giving his Talmidim the unique opportunity to develop their Hebrew language skills while also expanding their Gemara skills. Rav Mirsky's shiurim are known for their thoroughness and organization, and his Talmidim leave the shiur with a clear understanding of the sugya. Rav Mirsky’s excitement and enthusiasm for learning are truly contagious and his Talmidim come to share that enthusiasm over the course of the year. Rav Mirsky is famous for his engaging smile and inspiring sense of Ahavat Yisrael. As such, a Rav Mirsky Talmid will learn to value and appreciate the uniqueness of every member of Klal Yisrael. The warmth that Rav Mirsky exudes literally makes his home on campus a "home away from home" for so many of the Talmidim in Yeshiva. As one YSMZ Talmid put it, “I sometimes forget to knock when I come into Rav Mirsky's home because I consider it my home as well.” Whether it is Thursday night challah baking or a great Shabbat meal, Rav Mirsky’s home is a literal reshut harabim. |

Education: Semicha - Yeshiva University, Gruss Kollel Elyon; Yeshiva University - B.S. (Computer Science) New to the Mevaseret Family, Rav Saffer brings with him a wealth of experience both as a mechanech in America and in Eretz Yisrael. Rav Saffer possesses a unique combination rarely found in a Rebbe - managing to fuse his passionate commitment to a very high-level of learning with his relaxed and down-to-earth style of relating to his Talmidim. Rabbi Saffer's Talmidim truly become a part of the Saffer family, as he and his wife often host as many as fifteen Talmidim at a time for Shabbos. In fact, throughout the years some Talmidim have literally moved into his house for the summer! Rav Saffer's afternoon schedule includes teaching an in-depth analysis of the Halachot of Bein Adam L'Chaveiro (covering topics such as Bikur Cholim, Nichum Aveilim, Tzedaka, Hachnasat Orchim and Kiruv Rechokim), as well as acting as Shana Bet Mashgiach, coordinating all Shana Bet programming and shiurim, and overseeing their continued growth. Additionally, second year Talmidim have the opportunity to review Morning Seder shiur with an exceptional Talmid Chacham in Rav Saffer. Outside of YSMZ, Rav Saffer is a Rebbe on NCSY Kollel and gives an Iyun shiur at night to an impressive array of working professionals, including doctors, dentists, lawyers, high-tech executives, accountants and even other mechanchim. We feel truly fortunate to have Rav Saffer with us as a member of the Mevaseret Family. |

Education: B.A. - Yeshiva University; Yoreh Yoreh and Yadin Yadin, RIETS; M.S., Bernard Revel Graduate School
Prior to making aliyah in August 2006, Rabbi Yitzchak Twersky was a senior Rebbe and chairman of the Tanach department at the Frisch School. Rav Twersky has been giving shiurim for decades to thousands of students, rebbeim, and teachers at Yeshiva University, Princeton, Columbia, Camp Moshava and numerous other places. He is the author of scores of published articles in Gemara B’Iyun, Tanach, and machshava. His sefer, Amittah Shel Torah contains original insights into Tanach and Chazal. |
|
Education: B.A. in History and Literature Harvard University; U.C.L.A. Law School, J.D. After graduating Cum Laude from Harvard University and receiving his J.D. from UCLA Law, Rav Wenglin began his career doing mergers and acquisitions for the Manhattan law firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton and Garrison. The potential for him to make partner was tangible but he put that success on hold in order to learn more about his Jewish roots. He moved to Jerusalem where he started taking introductory classes at Aish HaTorah and eventually grew to the point where he periodically taught in the Essentials program as well on several Jerusalem Fellowship trips. Rav Wenglin was named Director of Education at a Yeshivat Lev Yisrael where he later served as the Executive Director for three years. Rav Yaakov Yisrael is currently an in-demand guest speaker for college campuses and community-based outreach programs throughout North America. Additionally, since 2001, Rav Wenglin has been a lecturer in Jerusalem for JEWEL - an introductory program for Jewish women. He is also a guest speaker for the Aishet and Achim Kiruv Training program in Israel as well as an instructor at the Olamot Seminary, all the while making freelance teaching appearances in and around Jerusalem.
At YSMZ, Rav Wenglin brings his unique blend of humor and hashkafa to the afternoon seder program. He delivers a bi-weekly Gemara for Beginners class that teaches Talmidim how to approach the Gemara from scratch, as well as a mind-blowing class in Foundations of Judaism. Rav Wenglin brings with him a wealth of life experience that serves as a great model for our Talmidim. |

Having previously ranked amongst Mevaseret's senior Ramim, Rav Wruble is known to many Talmidim and alumni as Abba - a term which succinctly sums up the essence of Rav Wruble and the warmth and approachability for which he is renowned. Rav Wruble rejoins the Mevaseret team this year with a lateral look at Nevi'im through his Afternoon Seder shiur "Prophet Profiles." |

Education: B.A. - Yeshiva University; Semicha - Yeshiva University, Gruss Kollel. M.A. Azrieli School of Jewish Education. Rav Zvi is another Mevaseret tTlmid who has come back home to serve on our illustrious staff. His ability to relate to the guys is a function of his warm personality and his experience as a YSMZ Talmid himself. Rav Zvi is exceptionally dedicated to the Talmidim, often staying post Night Seder and inviting them for Shabbat on a constant basis. His presence in the Yeshiva is felt throughout as he is a fixture both in the Beit Midrash and on tiyulim. As an On-Campus Rebbe his house is always open to the Talmidim for schmoozing and a good meal. Rav Zvi’s Night Seder shiur is quite popular as Talmidim cover ground in gGmara, enhancing their reading skills and increasing their knowledge of Shas. In Rav Zvi Herman our Talmidim have an excellent role model. |

Education: Yeshiva University B.A. (Psychology), Yeshivat Sha'alvim Having made aliya just in time for this year's Elul Zman, Rav Simcha wasted no time making an impact on our yeshiva. As a Shoel U'Meishiv during all three sedarim, Rav Simcha's presence is always felt in the Beit Medrash. His determination to make sure every talmid has a firm understanding of the material has made him a popular choice for those in need. As an on campus rebbe, Rav Simcha's house is a popular destination for those looking for an opportunity to shmooze or for a Shabbat meal. Rav Simcha's ability to relate to the guys on any number of topics has quickly made him a fan-favorite among our talmidim. |

At YSMZ we are truly a family and every family needs to eat. However, to call Moe the chef would be a dismal understatement. Every meal he prepares, from his chocolate chip pancakes to his world famous barbeques, from his succulent grilled chicken, to his teriyake pepper steak, is made with his favorite ingredient: love. Talmidim enjoy spending their free time in Moe’s kitchen learning how to prepare a variety of different dishes and enjoying the special ruach that comes along with hanging with Moe. Some Talmidim become so close with him that they will wake up early before davening to help him prepare his amazing breakfasts. Moe’s range of influence spans beyond the confines of the kitchen. He can be found in the Beit Midrash learning Chumash with the Talmidim, hosting Va'ad night at him home, dancing at a Carlebach Minyan, leading a tisch in his house on campus and accompanying the Talmidim on their tiyulim. Everyone agrees, “Ya gotta go to Moe’s!” |
