Having joined the Mevaseret Family last year, Rav Saffer brings with him a wealth of experience both as a mechanech in America and in Eretz Yisrael. Rav Saffer possesses a unique combination rarely found in a Rebbe - managing to fuse his passionate commitment to a very high-level of learning with his relaxed and down-to-earth style of relating to his Talmidim. Rabbi Saffer's Talmidim truly become a part of the Saffer family, as he and his wife often host as many as fifteen Talmidim at a time for Shabbos. In fact, throughout the years some Talmidim have literally moved into his house for the summer! |

Education: Semicha - Mirrer Yeshiva; Graduate Gateshead, Beer Yaakov Renowned for his erudition in all areas of the Torah, Rav Zucker gives an intriguing class in Jewish Eschatology, offering the Talmidim a rare opportunity to gather information both fascinating and foreign to most people. Additionally, Rav Zucker offers shiurim in emunah and a unique look at Parshat HaShavua. Education: B.A. in History and Literature Harvard University; U.C.L.A. Law School, J.D. After graduating Cum Laude from Harvard University and receiving his J.D. from UCLA Law, Rav Wenglin began his career doing mergers and acquisitions for the Manhattan law firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton and Garrison. The potential for him to make partner was tangible but he put that success on hold in order to learn more about his Jewish roots. He moved to Jerusalem where he started taking introductory classes at Aish HaTorah and eventually grew to the point where he periodically taught in the Essentials program as well on several Jerusalem Fellowship trips. Rav Wenglin was named Director of Education at a Yeshivat Lev Yisrael where he later served as the Executive Director for three years. Rav Yaakov Yisrael is currently an in-demand guest speaker for college campuses and community-based outreach programs throughout North America. Additionally, since 2001, Rav Wenglin has been a lecturer in Jerusalem for JEWEL - an introductory program for Jewish women. He is also a guest speaker for the Aishet and Achim Kiruv Training program in Israel as well as an instructor at the Olamot Seminary, all the while making freelance teaching appearances in and around Jerusalem.
At YSMZ, Rav Wenglin brings his unique blend of humor and hashkafa to the afternoon seder program. He delivers a bi-weekly Gemara for Beginners class that teaches Talmidim how to approach the Gemara from scratch, as well as a mind-blowing class in Foundations of Judaism. Rav Wenglin brings with him a wealth of life experience that serves as a great model for our Talmidim. |

Education: Semicha – Chief Rabbinate of
After graduating from YU, Rav Beiser returned to his alma mater as one of the founding members of the Mevaseret Kollel, where he studied Semicha for five years and also had twice daily chavrutot as well as weekly vaadim with the Shana Alef Talmidim. Rav Beiser was always the natural choice to serve as "substitute teacher" for any of the Rabbeim who were away. Rav Beiser continued on from Mevaseret to several advanced-level Kollelim in Yerushalayim including the Mir Yeshiva, the "Super Kollel" of Yeshivas Aish HaTorah, and Kollel Ateres Elimelech. Before joining Mevaseret as official staff this year, Rav Beiser spent the past year at Yeshivas Tehillas Shlomo – learning with and mentoring Talmidim. Rav Beiser is keen and fired up for his third YSMZ experience - not only for the Beit Midrash and shiur interaction, but for the forging of the same kind of relationships with current Talmidim that he had enjoyed so much with his rabbeim when he was a YSMZ Talmid! |

Moshe Berman Yeshiva Chef |

At YSMZ we are truly a family and every family needs to eat. However, to call Moe the chef would be a dismal understatement. Every meal he prepares, from his chocolate chip pancakes to his world famous barbeques, from his succulent grilled chicken, to his teriyake pepper steak, is made with his favorite ingredient: love. Talmidim enjoy spending their free time in Moe’s kitchen learning how to prepare a variety of different dishes and enjoying the special ruach that comes along with hanging with Moe. Some Talmidim become so close with him that they will wake up early before davening to help him prepare his amazing breakfasts. Moe’s range of influence spans beyond the confines of the kitchen. He can be found in the Beit Midrash learning Chumash with the Talmidim, hosting Va'ad night at him home, dancing at a Carlebach Minyan, leading a tisch in his house on campus and accompanying the Talmidim on their tiyulim. Everyone agrees, “Ya gotta go to Moe’s!” |

Avi and his wife Arielle are also well known for opening their home evenings and Shabbatot for Talmidim who are in need of some home-style food or atmosphere! |
